There are things known and there are things unknown, and in between are the doors of perception.

The Idea

Get curious. Take a closer look.  Take another look. Feel something.

HethreGlass hand-blown art glass explores the dimensions of the world around us—some that cannot be seen with the unaided eye—all to inspire wonder.

I am inspired by viruses, texture, colors, holes inside trees and social issues. Some of my art is functional while others are narrative.  My processes and ideas continue to evolve, sampling and mixing techniques, and gaining new perspectives to keep it interesting. Mostly, I really just love blowing glass and creating something from nothing because it’s FUN AF!

100% Hand-crafted American Art Glass

Hey there! Welcome to my virtual studio :)

I’m a second-generation glassblower (my Uncle Mike was a neon artist), creating primarily at the torch (aka flameworking), but also skilled in traditional hot shop and kiln casting techniques. I love to execute on my visions using glass because this fascinating material can be used in a myriad of ways and because it’s never-ending learning journey.

Where did I learn? Back in the late 1990s, I found a VHS tape (what’s that?) and some books, took a class at the local stained glass shop and started making a lot of messes! Since 2003, I’ve been blessed to study with some of the best glass artists on the planet at, the world-renown Corning Museum of Glass. I’ve also studied at the Penland School of Crafts, the Pittsburgh Glass Center, and with the kind folks at Everdream Studios. My art has been published in New Glass Review, The Flow Magazine, New Hampshire Magazine, has been exhibited with Harvard University and the League of NH Craftsmen, and is the permanent collection of the Corning Museum of Glass.

In 2016, I became a certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher and have been exploring the intersections between movement, glassblowing, and creative flow ever since. I started teaching a glass & yoga class at the Corning Museum of Glass in the fall of 2018; you can find me teaching yoga and glass classes at various studios and events throughout the nation. I also teach private classes in my studio as well.

I’m a solo artist, making all my creations with my own hands. I’m human and I ain’t perfect, tho I try. My work embodies ‘wabi sabi’. The color of the glass may appear slightly different than in the photos.  You can be assured you are purchasing quality,  "one-of-a-kind" work of art with HethreGlass.
