Nest Eggs

$650.00

Nest Eggs is a sculptural collaboration between myself and fellow League of NH Craftsmen artist, Donna Banfield. Donna is an exceptional wood-turner, creating fine art using various woods as her medium, and teaches the art of wood-working around the world.

In this collaboration, Donna turned woods, such as Maple, Butternut, and Cherry, on a lathe to create the nests. She then used a pyro-engraving technique to give the nests their delicate texture, and sealed them with lacquer. I blew the glass eggs, using borosilicate glass and various glass frits and powders for texture. Each set is unique and invites the viewer to touch the eggs and examine them up close—something we typically can’t do in nature.

Dimensions: Nests range in approximately size from 3” to 4.5” diameter and are 2” to 2.5” tall. Each nest is signed and dated, includes set of 3 hollow glass eggs of varying colors/patterns.

*Do not let wood come in contact with plastic, it will damage the lacquer finish.
